This is the story of my grandma Denise Feiler and her sister Paulette Feiler. They were born and raised in Paris, buy when the war broke out, they were forced to wear the yellow star. Knowing that their parents had a high risk staying, they decided to have my grandma and her sister hidden in a neighbor's house, while their brother (Michel) still a baby, was kept in my grandma's parents care. When time came, they were deported but Paullette ran after the bus that took jews to concentration camps, and asked her mother to throw out baby Michel out of thr bus window. That is how the children were incredibly saved but with sadness, Mamie's parents were deported and killed in a concentration camp. Their father was shot because he was part of the revolution, throwing bombs in Nazi quarters. While the children remained, they were admitted in a Catholic orphanage and grew up there all there lives until they moved to America. This is the story of Michel, Paulette and Denise Feiler. It's because of them that I exist, my father exists, my brother exists. Lakheim. (Their story is published in 36 untold stories)

Marianne
